"Un Peso Dominicano del 1897", donde la palabra "CUARTO" (1/4) caundo se refiere al dinero en República Dominicana toma origen. Ya que el valor de esta era de 25 gramos de plata. Por eso en aquel entonces se usaba frecuentemente llamar "Cuarto" por su valor de plata en lugar de su valor en pesos.
